Obituary of Westford J. Cosgrove

Westford J. Cosgrove, age 78, died at home on December 24, 2014, in Maplewood, NJ. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Prospect Presbyterian Church 646 Prospect St., Maplewood with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate West's life. The family will also be receiving friends on Friday, January 2, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Prospect Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Prospect Presbyterian Church or to the Northern New Jersey Council, Boy Scouts of America, 25 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ 07436. West was born on October 3, 1936 in Bristol, PA, to parents Thomas and Gladys (Cutter) Cosgrove. He served in the Air Force from 1955 to 1958. In 1968, West and Connie moved to Maplewood, where he became involved with Prospect Presbyterian Church, Boy Scouts of America, Maplewood Civic Association and the Republican County Committee. He is survived by his wife, Constance Ebert, of 53 years; son, W. James Cosgrove, Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Litchfield, CT; son, Andrew H. Cosgrove and wife, Jillian, of Powder Springs, GA; and grandchildren, Justin, Kelsey, Marissa and Alexa.
