Marcia Lynn Worth-Baker, 48, of South Orange, N.J., a local journalist and educator, passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, in St. Barnabas Medical Center.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at the Morrow Memorial Church, 600 Ridgewood Road, Maplewood, N.J., on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 2:30 p.m. For more information, please visit prestonfuneralhome.net.
Born in Saginaw, Mich., Marcia grew up in Paterson, N.J., and had resided in South Orange for the past 19 years. She received her B.A. degree in English from Mt. Holyoke College in 1988 and her master's degree from Teachers College at Columbia University in 1990. Marcia was a writer, educator, and editor of Matters Magazine and the South Orange Patch.
She was the beloved wife of David W. Baker; devoted mother of Abigail C. Baker, James L. Baker, and Charles D. Baker; loving daughter of Catherine T. Dwan and Larry D. Worth, and stepdaughter of Donald A. Dwan and the dear sister of John D. Worth.
