I just today learned of Mina’s passing when a Christmas correspondence to her was returned unopened. I am so saddened by her passing. Mina and I became friends when she lived in Albuquerque. She asked me to help with the flowers at St. Mary’s church and that was the beginning of a wonderful friendship that lasted beyond her move away from New Mexico and back to New York. She taught me so much, not only about flowers but about life. I always felt so very close to her, even after she moved away. I was able to visit her a few times in NY, going to museums and to her home in Mt. Vernon for luncheon with my daughter who also seemed to feel a closeness to Mina. I am so so very saddened by her passing and yet feel blessed by the many wonderful memories that I have of her. Indeed, I was just talking about her last night. And in that way, through those many wonderful memories, she will in some way remain alive for me. I loved her and will miss her very much.
