BETTY PITTER, 88 EAST ORANGE, NJ Beloved Mother, Betty Pitter died peacefully the Morning of August 16, 2017, at ST. Michael’s Hospital in Newark, NJ. Ironically, she died where she worked for Over 30 years as a Charge Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) where she so, diligently groomed and mentored Doctors and Nurses alike to become outstanding professionals. She was a beautiful human being, inside and out, full of life, curiosity, and hope, and for whom her family was her first love. Born on November 03, 1928 in Maracaibo, Venezuela to Emelda Peters. Betty had a brother Norris who had preceded her in death. She then moved to ST. George's, Grenada; West Indies where she went to nursing school and was married. With patient and an innate joy of living, she moved and embraced a full and productive life in East Orange, New Jersey. There she raised her 6 children. Betty was a strong and independent woman. She would not allow anyone nor anything stand in her way. She would always tell the truth whether you like it or not. As a Venezuelan she loved dancing, cooking, dressing fashionable, looking good and most importantly taking care of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephew alike. Betty is survived by her four sons, Ronald Lewis, George Lewis, Patrick Lewis, Carlos Lewis and her daughter, Gloria Lewis; grandchildren and great grandchildren to include her Daughter-In-Laws; Brenda, Pam and Bruny. Betty is also preceded by her daughter, Judith Paulette Lewis. MAMMY YOU DID AN ALL-AROUND OUTSTANDIG JOB TAKING CARE OF YOUR FAMILY YOU WILL BE "MISSED"
