Allison Loring Charles, the second of three sons of Aletha Jane Somersle and Ickford Nathaniel Charles, was born on February 23, 1954. Allison attended neighborhood schools and was a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science. He received his Associates degree at New York City Community College, his bachelor's from Staten Island College and his Master's in Business Administration from the Stern School of Business at New York University. Growing up with his two brothers, he enjoyed playing with model train sets, building model cars and was always inventing new games to play with his brothers. He started his career as a Medical Lab Technician at Cabrini Hospital, which his younger brother affectionately termed, a vampire. In August 1979, he married WillieMae Fludd. The two were later blessed with a daughter, Jennifer. He was a proud father of Jennifer's multiple accomplishments over the years. Over time, he advanced his knowledge and position to become Administrator of Laboratory Operations at St. Claire's Hospital in Manhattan. He then moved to Princeton Medical Center as the Director of Laboratories. Allison enjoyed travel both for pleasure and business. Illness brought an unexpected early end to his career. Although, he was well aware of the severity of his illness, he remained positive, enjoying fishing, a new hobby for him, as much as possible. Al is survived by his wife WillieMae, daughter Jennifer, sister Lillian, brother Michael, sister-in-law Marcia, nephew Alexander, aunt Henrietta, cousins, friends and former coworkers.
