Obituary of Margaret M. Higgins

Margaret M. Higgins, 96, died peacefully at home on Jan. 2, 2018. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, N.J., on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, N.Y. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Margaret was born in New York City, N.Y., and lived in Maplewood for the past 60 years. She worked for the Maplewood/South Orange Board of Education for 18 years, retiring in 2000. Margaret was a member of the Senior Group of South Orange and Maplewood, and past member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church Choir. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Higgins, and her sister, Catherine Mennona. She is survived by her son, Glenn Higgins; her daughter-in-law, Susan H. Higgins; her daughter, Caryn Higgins; grandchildren, Ryan and Cassidy Higgins, and brother, Edward Cronin.
