Dr. William Charles Heugh Palm City, FL Dr. William C. Heugh a longtime resident of Port Jefferson, NY and Stuart, FL passed away on November 2, 2005. Bill Heugh was a retired Superintendent of Schools for Port Jefferson, NY and a veteran of World War II. Bill Heugh graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honorary Society. He also earned an educational doctorate degree from Columbia University. Bill Heugh served as Vice Principal of Montclair high School in NJ, Supervising Principal of Essex Fells Schools in NJ, Principal of The Edgemont Schools in Scarsdale, NY, Superintendent of Schools in Rosalle, NJ and Superintendent of Schools in Port Jefferson, NY. During WWII, Lieutenant Heugh was a Naval Air Combat Intelligence Officer and served in the pacific region. He also served briefly during the Korean War as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Bill Heugh was an avid investor, a world traveler, a sports enthusiast and was known as a scholar and gentleman. He is survived by his wife, Mary J. Heugh of Palm City, FL; his daughter: Elaine H. (Frank S.) Besson of Arlington, VA; his son: Richard (Kirsti Ness-Hansen) Heugh of Boca Raton, FL; and his grandson Kristian Ness-Hansen Heugh of New York, NY. Funeral service will be held on Thur, November 10, 2005, 11:00 AM at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood, NJ. Interment will be at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Short Hill, NJ. .
