Obituary of Virginia P. Branigan

Friends are invited to gather with family members at the home of Virginia Branigan, 14 S. Crescent, Maplewood on Saturday, March 18 from 1-4 pm, to honor and remember Virginia, who died at home Wednesday, March 8. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, she moved with her late husband Durward to Maplewood, New Jersey in 1946, where she lived for 60 years. She also summered for the past 88 years at her family’s cottage in Macatawa Park, Holland, Michigan. A 1938 graduate of Oberlin College, Mrs. Branigan was active in the Maplewood Service League, the Maplewood Women’s Club, and the Methodist Women’s Club, and she was a long time member of the Maplewood Country Club. Surviving are sons James, Michael and John, daughter Jane B. Occhiogrosso, and seven grandchildren.
