Mrs. Virginia Cantarella (nee Maenza), 75, of Union died on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, in the Cranford Health & Extended Care Center, Cranford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Josephs Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood, on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m. Entombment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held at the Jacob A. Born in Newark, Mrs. Cantarella lived in Union for 48 years. She was a secretary with P. Cantarella III Asphalt Paving in Union, (her husbands company), from 1987 until retiring in 2007. She was also a secretary for the Sergeant Welsh Co. in Springfield from 1971 to 1987. She was a member of St. Josephs Church in Maplewood.
Mrs. Cantarella was the beloved wife of Pasquale A. Cantarella Jr.; devoted mother of Debbie Calantoni, Pat Cantarella III and Ginny Russo; dear sister of Mary Settineri and Maryann Colasurdo, and is also survived by eight grandchildren.
