I have thought of John Dee often throughout the last 43 years. We had a great time growing up together and he was always the life of the party.
When my family lived next door to his family we were playing hide and seek one time and he hid in a coffin and when my sisters and I walked into the room he yelled BOO! (Nearly scaring me out of my wits). He loved to play a good joke on us girls.
John Dee and the rest of us that attended high school in the 7th grade ran Mt. Vernon High School and continued to do so through our senior year.
John Dee will be greatly missed.
God bless you all and you are in our prayers.
Always, Jane Gwinup Roark and family

When I heard the sad news I looked through my 1964 yearbook and part of what John Dee wrote was "I don't know where to begin. 17 years is a long time and quite a few things can happen in that span. Remember our 5 year romance, Pig in the Pen, McShane's barn, etc."
John Dee, Molly, Mike and I shared so many enjoyable times together. John Dee was my first love and through the years John Dee turns up in most of my memories of Mt.Vernon. Susie and Brenda, you are in my prayers at this time--he was a wonderful and amazing friend.

To John's family I send my condolences. I met John years ago through his very best friend, Diana Pizarro. Diana took care of John in the past few years that he was ill. She put him first always and I know John appreciated and loved her. She truly understood him and made sure all his needs were being met. I know that John's children appreciate everything that Diana did for their father.

Foo, I have missed you since back in the 70's. Thank you for helping me to hone my sense of humor. I still find it odd however that many still don't get it! One of my best memories is, while atteding a Daredevils concert with you at Stephens College, one minite you were sitting there, the next you were gone. All of a sudden the crowd erupted, when I looked at the stage, you were up there doing the Foo dance. Another great memory was the time at the lake when you spent the entire day calling out for "Willard". I hope you finally found him. Foo, you were a great brother in law. I miss you.

My beautiful boy. I see your name and I still cannot believe that we'll never walk together, laugh together, go to the movies, and your favorite go to dinner! John it was an honor to take care of you for almost all of eight years. You taught me patience, when we were both sick, unconditional love, and you trusted me more than anything or anyone which is why I always went the extra mile. Your were so cool! It's hard to say were. I love you John more than anything. You will always remain my partner, my friend and my little boy. I miss you so much, yours Diana.
