Elizabeth "Bette" Stanziale Lauria, 80, of Toms River, formerly of Short Hills, died April 17, 2008, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills, on Wednesday, April 23, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held at the Jacob A. Born in Millburn, Mrs. Lauria lived in Short Hills for 30 years before moving to Toms River 12 years ago. Before retiring, she was a secretary for many years for Childrens Academy, Springfield. Previously, she had been a secretary for Millburn Recreation and Building Department and for a mathematician at Mutual Benefit Insurance Company, Newark. Mrs. Lauria graduated from Berkeley Secretarial School, East Orange, in 1946. She was a member of the Toms River Garden Club.
She was the beloved wife of John B. Lauria; devoted mother of Christine Lauria-Sharpe and her husband, Frank; dear sister of Alfred Stanziale. She is also survived by her loving grand-dog, Teddie.
