Obituary of Marcella Townsend

Marcella Townsend (nee Sturm), 95, of Maplewood died on Oct. 15, 2008, at home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Monday, Oct. 20, at 9 a.m., thence to St. Joseph's Church, Maplewood, where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Interment is at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Born in Newark, Mrs. Townsend lived in Maplewood for 60 years. She was the manager of the savings department at Crestmont Savings & Loan, Maplewood, where she worked from 1963 to 1976 before retiring. Mrs. Townsend was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Maplewood, the Maplewood Seniors #2, and the St. Joseph's Rainbow Seniors, Maplewood. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Townsend, and the devoted mother of Raymond J. Townsend Jr. and his wife, Marian, and Richard J. Townsend.
