Obituary of Jeanne M. Schmicker

Jeanne M. Phelan Schmicker, 83, of Maplewood died on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009 at home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, on Monday, Feb. 2, at 9:30 a.m. Interment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Born in Orange, Mrs. Schmicker lived in Maplewood for 68 years, She was an underwriter for Fireman's Insurance Co. in Newark for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Rosary Society at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She loved arts and theater, and had traveled extensively throughout Europe. Mrs. Schmicker was the beloved wife of Edward G. Schmicker; devoted mother of Edward G. Schmicker Jr., Katherine Hampton, Jeanne M. Schmicker and Carol Ekstrand; also survived by eight grandchildren.
