Joseph E. Dugan, 60, of Cooperstown, N.Y., formerly of Maplewood, died suddenly Friday, May 29, 2009, at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown, N.Y. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood, on Wednesday, June 3, at 10 a.m. Interment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held at the Jacob A. Born in Newark, Mr. Dugan lived in Maplewood before moving to Cooperstown, N.Y., seven years ago. He was a network technician for Verizon in Madison from 1971 to 2001, when he retired. He also worked as a Pro Shop Attendent at Leatherstocking Golf Course, Cooperstown, NY. A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam era, Mr. Dugan was a member of Local 827, IBEW of N.J., and a parishioner of St. Mary's Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Cooperstown, N.Y.
He was the beloved husband of Georgiana Kisch Dugan; lovng stepfather of Scott Kisch, Kristen Kaplan and her husband, Dan, and Kevin Kisch; dear grandfather of Hannah Kaplan; devoted brother of Marilou Gehring and her husband, Bob; cherished uncle of Christopher Gehring, and cherished great-uncle of Nicholas and Emma Gehring.
