Obituary of Virginia Tait Hildebrand

Virginia Tait Hildebrand, 94, of Maplewood died on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, in Winchester Gardens, Maplewood. Funeral services are private. As a senior citizen, she went back to college and graduated from Upsala College, East Orange, with a B.A. degree in Languages and New York University with a master's degree in Latin American Studies. Mrs. Hildebrand was very active in the Fair Housing Council of Essex County, a volunteer for the South Mountain Peace Action, and the American Civil Liberties Union, and was a Maplewood Mariner Girl Scout Troop counselor at the Eagle Island Camp, Saranac Lake, N.Y. She was the beloved wife of William Hildebrand; devoted mother of Christine, Eric, and Virgini S. Hildebrand; loving mother-in-law of Paddy Streepy Hildebrand, and devoted grandmother of Lauren and Katie Hildebrand.
