Obituary of Frances E. Pew

Frances E. Johnston Pew, 91, of Hackettstown, N.J., formerly of South Orange, N.J., died on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Morristown Medical Center. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Friday, June 10, at 5 p.m. Interment is private. Mrs. Pew was born in Orange, N.J., and lived in South Orange, N.J., before moving to Hackettstown, N.J., 10 years ago. She was a secretary with the South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education from 1959 to 1979 before retiring. She was a member of the South Orange Women's Club in the 1970s and the South Orange Methodist Church Choir from the 1950s to 1970s. Beloved wife of the late John F. Pew, she was the devoted mother of John D. Pew, Carol Gilby, and Nancy Francis. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
