Obituary of John A. Kemper

John A. Kemper, 67, of Madison, N.J., passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, N.J., on Tuesday, June 19, at 9:30 a.m. Interment is in Pleasantdale Cemetery, West Orange, N.J. Mr. Kemper was born in Newark, N.J., and received his bachelor's degree from Montclair State College. A former pro competitive body builder, he owned and operated the Diamond Gym in Maplewood, N.J., from 1977 until his retirement in 2007. At the time of his death, he was the national vice president and New Jersey state chairman of the National Physique Committee (NPC), and an NPC/IFBB judge. He was the beloved husband of Shirley Corke Kemper; devoted father of Mara, Kimberly, Brianna, Olivia, and the late Christina Kemper; and loving grandfather of Samantha Molina.
