Denise Adisa, 64, of South Orange, N.J., died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, in St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, N.J., on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. Visitation will be held at the Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. Born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, Denise lived in South Orange, N.J., for 25 years. She was an R.N.C.M.A. who held a master of arts in educational leadership from the College of St. Elizabeth. She worked as a school nurse for the East Orange Board of Education at Ecole Toussaint Louverture for many years. She was a proud benefactor of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., and a devout candidate for the Capuchin Franciscan Fraternity of the Province of St. Mary of the Capuchin Order (New York-New England). Denise was the beloved wife of Montanmi L. Adisa and devoted mother of Gisela and Eric Adisa. She is also survived by two sisters and a brother. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor for any of the following causes: Society of African Missions, Doctors Without Borders, Project Medishare, Our Lady of Lourdes Volunteers or Capuchin Franciscan Fraternity.
