Obituary of Harriett F. Ward

Harriett F. Ward (nee Chamberlain), R.N., 94, of Maplewood, N.J., formerly of Belleville, N.J., died on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Sunday, March 10, at 11 a.m. Interment is private. Harriett was born in Boonton, N.J., and had lived in Maplewood for 12 years. She was a graduate of the Newark City Hospital School of Nursing and received her B.S. in nursing from Seton Hall University. A registered nurse, she was self-employed as a private duty nurse for many years. Harriett was the beloved wife of the late C. Prentiss Ward, M.D.; devoted mother of Patricia Snyder and her husband, Arnold, of Maine, Robert P. Ward and his wife, Hillela, of New York, and Christine Ward of Missouri; loving grandmother of Heinrick Snyder, Sonya Grady, Dahlia McManus, Aaron Ward, Miriam Ward and Ross Snyder, and four great-grandchildren.
