William (Bill) E. Lada, 67 of Maplewood died suddenly on Monday, September 30, 2013 at East Orange Veterans Hospital. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood, on Sat, Oct 5th at 10:30 AM. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Friday, 5:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to a favorite charity of your choice would be appreciated. For more information or to send condolences please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com. Bill was born in Newark and has lived in Maplewood for 36 years. He was a maintenance engineer at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center from 1978-1998. He was in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He served from 1965-1969 where he received the Vietnam Service Medal w/ bronze star. Bill was a member of the VFW Post 10120, Maplewood, the Springfield-Hillside Elks, Bailey Seton League of Seton Hall University and the Operating Engineers Union Local 68, West Caldwell. He is survived by his beloved wife Eleanor Knapp Lada, devoted sons William E. Lada Jr. and his wife Daniella, and Michael E. Lada with Libby Kerr, loving grandson William Miranda Lada, dear sister Patricia Dishaw and her husband Leo.and brother-in-law William A. Knapp and his wife Liz. He is also survived by a host of relatives, comrades and friends.
