I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Bert. I would have loved to come to the memorial service but, unfortunately, did not learn about it until the next day. During the time my family lived in New Providence, just down the street from the gas station where Bert worked, Bert was a big part of our day-to-day life. We always got our gas from the station that he worked because it was such a pleasure stopping in and chatting with Bert and we always looked forward to seeing him. Just before my family moved out of the area, we made it a point to stopped in to say goodbye to Bert and let him know how much we always enjoyed stopping to see him. We felt as if Bert was a part of the family. Bert will be missed.
