Sandy, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved mother. In memory of better days together, I took a trip to Seaside, bought a bag of zeppoles, sat down on a bench on the Casino Pier, watched the rides and proceeded to tell my husband all the funny stories of my Aunt Lucy. I explained to Jim that Aunt Lucy was the aunt that used to push me an arms-length in front of her in the ocean, so, as she used to say "If a shark comes, he will get you first & it will give me time to get to shore." That story always makes me laugh, but this time it made me sob. I was overwhelmed with grief knowing those days are gone. My memories of your mother remain a cherished gift that remain in my heart. I am grateful for the good times we had together and am honored to call her my Aunt Lucy.
