Anneliese (Anne) F. Thiemer passed away on August 5, 2014 at her residence in the Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Anne had celebrated her 96th birthday on July 10th of this year.
Born in Berlin, Germany in 1918, she came to this country in 1929 and resided in New Jersey her entire life, mostly in Teaneck and Brick Township. She graduated Bogota High School Class of 1936 and worked at the Bell Laboratories in New York City until 1941.
Married to her late husband, Robert (deceased in 1989), she spent her Teaneck years as a homemaker.
She was predeceased by her parents and husband and is survived by her son, Bob (Kathi), two grandchildren, Krista Powis (Chris) and Brian Thiemer (Shannon) and six great-grandchildren, Kate, Megan, Dylan and Ryleigh Powis, and Grace and Jack Thiemer. She is also survived by a cousin, Guenter Franke in Berlin, Germany.
Anne volunteered for 25 years in the Chaplain's Office at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. After relinquishing her home in Brick Township in July of 2013, she moved to the Assisted Living Facility in Old Bridge, where she was lovingly cared for by the entire staff.
A graveside service will be held at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus, New Jersey on Sat, Aug 9th at 1:00 PM.
For those who choose to do so, a memorial donation in her name can be made to The Reformed Church Home, 1990 State Highway #18 North, Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857 to the attention of Marie Trezza, Director of Development.
