Obituary of Stanley J. Kossup

Stanley J. Kossup, 81 died at home in Newark. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange on Fri, March 27th at 10:30 AM. Interment Private. Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home 153 South Orange Ave, South Orange on Thursday, 4:00 -8:00 pm. Stanley was a lifelong resident of Newark. He received his B.A. at Seton Hall University in 1955 and his Masters in Secondary Education from Seton Hall in 1973. He became a Newark Fire Fighter in 1959, was promoted to Captain in 1963, Batalion Chief in 1968, Deputy Chief in 1973, Fire Chief from 1979 to 1988 and then appointed to Fire Director in 1988 until his retirement in 2002. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Isabelle Nadwodny Kossup, daughter Deborah MacDonald, three sons Stanley A., Steven J. and Michael A. Kossup. Ten grandchildren and Two great grandchildren. .
