Robert W. Peters, 74, of West Orange, N.J., passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015, in Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at St. George's Episcopal Church, 550 Ridgewood Road, Maplewood, N.J., on Wednesday, April 1, at 11 a.m. Interment is at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth, N.J. Visitation will be held at the Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, N.J., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. For more information, please visit prestonfuneralhome.net. Born in Jersey City, N.J., Mr. Peters had resided in West Orange, N.J., for 42 years. He was an investment banker with the GMS Group in Livingston, N.J., for over 25 years. He was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan and earned his master's degree in business from Rider University. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served from 1963 to 1965, during the Vietnam War. He was a Free Mason and a member of Baltusrol Golf Club for over 30 years. He was also a member of St. George's Episcopal Church, Maplewood, N.J. Mr. Peters was a deeply devoted man, loved by many. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Peters; devoted father of Chad E. and his wife, Abigail; Jonathan D., and Ryan W. Peters and his wife, Kathryn; dear brother of Albert Peters and Donna Schiller; loving grandfather of Addison and Olivia Peters, and beloved son-in-law of Irene Caserta. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, 201 Lyons Ave., Newark, N.J. 07112 or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kan. 66675, would be appreciated.
