Obituary of John E. Falk
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John E. Falk died in peace with courage and dignity on Thursday, November 12th comforted by his close family. He was a chip off the block of his deceased father, John, devoted son of Ethel, loving brother to his deceased sister Linda, beloved husband of 40 years to Susan, mutually devoted by his late father-in-law and mother-in-law Walter and Relli Bergman, father to his pride and joy Candice, paternal mentor and proud partner of Jonathan, adoring brother and brother-in-law to Patricia and Douglas, loving uncle to nieces, nephews, extended family and had a special relationship with the McManus family.
He was treasured by his countless clients and loyal friends who met almost everyday at their favorite hangout, Obal's Inn. John was a decorated Vietnam veteran, a highly skilled and creative cabinet maker known for his high standards and attention to detail. He had a passion for country music, good jokes, cold beer, kielbasa, Susan's chicken soup with matzoh balls, oysters at Phillippi Creek and breakfast at Millies. He loved long motorcycle rides, camping in the outdoors, stargazing on the deck, ice skating, hiking in South Mountain reservation, Siesta Key sunsets, fishing in the Poconos and Sarasota. We will miss him inconsolably. We will try to follow his last instruction, "Calm down. There are better things to do."
Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home 153 South Orange Ave, South Orange on Sunday 3:00 – 6:00 pm with a service beginning at 6:00 pm.
