Obituary of Norka Imperio Hernandez

Norka Imperio Hernandez passed away peacefully in the company of her family on Monday, May 16, 2016 at The Hospice of Palm Beach County at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was 70 years old. Along with her husband, Carlos A. Hernandez, she moved from Quito, Ecuador to the United States 47 years ago, and was a 20-year treasured resident of Palm Beach, Florida. Prior to Palm Beach, Norka was a 3-year resident of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, a 16-year resident of South Orange, New Jersey and an 8-year resident of New York City.
Norka's main love and interest was her family, for whom she devoted her entire adult life. Norka also shared her passion in the jewelry business with her husband, Carlos. She was a dealer of precious gems in New York City for major designers. In addition, Norka and her husband owned a jewelry store in Livingston, New Jersey for many years and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Norka enjoyed travel and did so extensively throughout her life.
Along with her husband of over 50 years, she leaves behind: sons Carlos V. Hernandez of Groton, Massachusetts and Fred Hernandez of Miami, Florida; daughter Norka Saad of Palm Beach, Florida and her daughter's fiancé Robert Aron; honorary sons Charles B. Thor Seldon and Michael R. Meyers of New Jersey; her precious grandchildren Sarah Hernandez and Jayson Hernandez of Westford, Massachusetts, as well as Isabel Saad and Chloe Saad of Palm Beach, Florida; brother Roberto of Caracas, Venezuela; sister Gladys and niece Letty of Quito, Ecuador; brother Raul and his wife Gilda of Quito, Ecuador.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, 144 N County Road, Palm Beach, Florida.
As per her wishes, an interment service will be held on June 4, 2016 at 12:00pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, New Jersey, where she will be buried alongside her beloved son Jay Hernandez, who passed away in 1985.
