Elizabeth Bader Conway, 91 of Maplewood died on February 2, 2017 at Overlook Hospital. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Ave, Summit on Friday, Feb 10th at 10:45 AM. Interment St. Teresa's Cemetery, Summit. The Family will be receiving friends at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Thursday, Feb 9th from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Born in New York City, Elizabeth lived in Summit and Chatham Township before moving to Maplewood 3 years ago. She attended Visitation Academy, and Fontbonne Hall Academy in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY and as Valedictorian was the graduation keynote speaker. Elizabeth was a school teacher at P.S.104 in Brooklyn for several years prior to marriage and moving to Summit, NJ. An avid volunteer for service organizations, she served as the Past President of both the St. Teresa's Christ Child Society, and the Summit Chapter of the A.A.U.W. (College Club). Elizabeth was an ongoing advocate and patron for underprivileged Children and Women's Education. She was an art history buff and she regularly traveled internationally… and to Chatham, MA. She was predeceased by her son William C. Conway. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years George A. Conway Sr., her children George A. Conway Jr. and his wife Nansa, Thomas A. Conway and his wife Mary (Staunton), grandchildren Elizabeth, Erica, Aidan and Eileen, and her former daughter- in-law Janet Kelly.
