Robert H. Faig, 87, of Springfield, N.J., formerly of Maplewood, N.J., died at home on April 22, 2016.
Bob was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in Maplewood for 72 years before moving to Springfield 15 years ago. He graduated from Columbia High School and remained active by co-founding the CHS alumni luncheons. He graduated from University of Miami with a B.S. in business. Bob, who was a U.S. Marine from 1946 to 1948, proudly flew the American flag every day.
He was a financial advisor for Wells Fargo Advisors in Short Hills, N.J., from 1995 to 2015. Bob twice served as president of the Bond Club of New Jersey. He grew up lifeguarding on the Jersey shore and was an avid golfer and tennis player.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Roberta Faig (nee Nelowitz); devoted sons, Steven and wife Arceil; Charles and wife Janet, and John and wife Kristin; sister-in-law, Myrna Nelowitz, and loving grandchildren, Kelly, Alicia, Lindsey, Brian, and Jennifer.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, Maplewood.
