Obituary of Aniko Pogany DePierro

Aniko G. Pogany DePierro, 70, of South Orange, passed peacefully at home on March 21, 2017. Born in Budapest, Hungary, she left there in 1956 with her family during the Hungarian Revolution and lived in South Orange for more than 30 years. She was a 1964 graduate of Columbia High School, and a 1985 graduate of County College of Morris earning her degree in Business Administration with Highest Honors. She was also inducted into Alpha Beta Gamma, a National Business Honor Society. Aniko was the devoted mother to Catherine G. DePierro and dedicated grandmother to Catelyn A. Woelfle of Long Valley, NJ; dear sister to Ildiko P. DeAngelis and her husband Alexander of Pawleys Island, SC; Anton C. Pogany and his wife Catherine of Sausalito, CA; Ursula M. Pogany-Simnett and her husband, Richard of Port St. Lucie, FL; John B. Pogany and his wife, Leslie of South Orange, NJ; and sister-in-law, Zita Pogany of Ashburn, VA. She is also survived by many nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews whom she loved dearly. She is predeceased by her parents, Dr. Andras and Hortenzia Pogany; her brother, Andrew T. Pogany and her beloved, Dr. Joseph DePierro. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, April 1st at 12 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 217 Prospect Street, South Orange, NJ.
