A treasure of wisdom and always a pleasure to be with and someone whose person and “soul adhered to God”. “Frank” served as my co-counsel in a contentious political and election trial in Essex County. After lunch one day, we all returned to the courtroom but Frank sat behind us and not at counsel table. A legal imbroglio began on the record amongst all counsel and the Judge, with everyone sure that they alone had the answer. During the argument, I heard Frank sitting behind me turning pages in a book, and I said I am sure Professor McQuade has the answer for us all. As we all turned and looked to the font of legal wisdom, he said with his lilting smile “No, not that answer…I am reading the Liturgy of the Hours and dealing with larger questions.” With laughter and lightness, he had refocused the issues and placed us back on our common climb to justice. My prayers for him and warm embrace for his beloved wife Terry.
With sympathy, John M. Carbone, Esq.; Oblate, Order of Saint Benedict.

Theresa, I can distinctly remember the lunch you and Frank served me at your home when I worked as Director of Development for the seminary. You both are well loved and I am thankful for having known Frank and continue to know you. Be peaceful.

Theresa, Virginia and I have so many memories of Frank's sense of humor, exuberance about things Irish, and affection for Seton Hall University that it is impossible to know where to begin to express our sorrow at this sad moment. His wonderful stories of the people and places and events he encountered in his long life were a great treat. I loved his recollections of his years at Catholic University that were stimulated by his reading of the Biography of Rev. Gilbert Hartke, O.P., the founder of the Drama Department there. Your support of SHU plays was a great lift for those of us who enjoyed your company at the Theater-in-the-Round.

Dear Theresa, my prayers are with both you and Frank. He was a great mentor and friend to my brother, Bill. I remember his actions on behalf of justice in Newark in the70's and beyond when I lived there as well as his dedication as a deacon at St. Patrick's in Chatham when I ministered there.
May your memories be special and God's grace very present at this time. sr. Barbara
