Shedlow --- Richard W. Shedlow, 90, of Short Hills, NJ passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Angela (née Walsh) in 2002. He is survived by his children Deirdre Shedlow (Marci Forbes), Alexandra Shedlow (Scott Pollack), Richard M Shedlow (Elizabeth) and his brother Raymond Shedlow (Tony Sniekus). He is also survived by three grandchildren Cecelia, Caroline and Angela. He was born in New York City in 1928 and served in the Army during both World War II and the Korean War. He spent his professional career as an engineer, first in technical areas and later as a salesman and consultant, supporting a variety of industries. In later life he volunteered regularly at his church and a local soup kitchen. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Saturday, July 21st, at 8:45a.m., thence to St. Rose of Lima Church, Short Hills, where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:45a.m. Interment St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Short Hills. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 & 7-9p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to support charities focused on feeding the people, for example, the Community Foodbank of New Jersey or to St. Rose of Lima (Short Hills, NJ) and earmarked for food and nutrition.
