Obituary of Jody M. Chervenak

Jody M. Chervenak died at home in South Orange, N.J., on June 17, 2016. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, on Monday, June 20, at 10:30 a.m. Interment is in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange, N.J. Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. For more information or to send condolences, visit prestonfuneralhome.net. Mrs. Chervenak was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in South Orange for over 50 years. She graduated from University of Kentucky with a B.S. in home economics in 1943. She was a elementary school teacher for the Newark Board of Education from 1946 to 1996. Jody was predeceased by her husband, Francis Chervenak. She is survived by her children, Frank Chervenak M.D., Donald Chervenak M.D., Judi Lee Chervenak M.D.; grandchildren, Frank A., Joey J., Donald Chervenak, Steven T. and Francesca M. Beldner, and her sister, Johanna M. Longo. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1905 would be appreciated.
