"Dance as though no one is watching you. Love as though you have never been hurt before. Sing as though no one can hear. Live as though heaven is on earth." Souza
My mother was a beautiful woman. I know of no one who did not like her. She deserves an eternity of rest and peace, spending all of the time she desires in a luxurious bathtub with a box of Lady Godiva chocolates and a good mystery novel.
She also deserves to have her wishes honored.
I plan on spreading her cremated remains over Los Gigantes near El Morro National Monument in New Mexico on her 85th birthday, August 31, 2006 while we all sing "When The Saints Come Marching In."
The song goes like this:
"We are all traveling in the footsteps
Of those who have gone before
And we'll all be reunited
On a new and sunlit shore
"Oh, when the saints go marching in
Oh, when the saints go marching in
Lord, how I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in
"And when the sun begins to shine
And when the sun begins to shine
Lord, how I want to be in that number
When the sun begins to shine
"Oh, when the saints go marching in
Oh when the saints go marching in
Lord, how I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in.
"Oh, when the trumpet sounds its call
Oh, when the trumpet sounds its call
Lord, how I want to be in that number
When the trumpet sounds its call
"Oh, when the saints go marching in
Oh, when the saints go marching in
Lord, how I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in."
When you sing for my mother, enjoy it. Sing as though no one can hear you but her. She'll enjoy your voice no matter how bad you think you are.
She is not deaf, she was never dumb, and she is not dead.
