This is one of Pete Meyers' daughters - we were so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was our late father's best friend. May he rest in peace.

I just heard that one of my father's closest friends Dick Potar died. I am deeply saddened as we were just discussing him and wondering where he was living. I have the Most colorful memories of Dick. I remember him telling Donna and me when we were all but 19 that we should go to expensive restaurants in the city to meet eligible men. We actually took his advise. He was an elegant dresser and sported a gold cane. He used to drive me to the Longacre theater from Long Island regularly. He was a super fast driver and I remember being terrified as he whizzed in and out of traffic. He loved my dad and my dad loved him. One of my dad's favorite songs was King Pleasure's "There I go there I go." I just heard it on the radio and feel the two of them are up in heaven having a good time together.

This is Pete's other daughter. Dick and I worked together for a few years at the Longacre. I have to say that we never had a cross word between us.My dad took us to many a fun dinner and all we did was laugh. One was at the Palm with Lobsters and steak tartare. Dick ate a full pound of raw meat! I loved his flashy jackets and classy way about him.My mom Carole loved you guys too! Please email me so we can talk.

Beverly, my deepest sympathies. Richard was a ball of fire and I thoroughly enjoyed every interaction!! He had a flare for dressing and driving. His sense of humor was phenomenal. I will never forget his and your kindness when my son was born nor all of the wisdom imparted in even casual conversations. Richard added flavor and pizzazz to the neighborhood. I have so many fond memories. Thank you both for being great next neighbors during our time in Maplewood. May Richard rest in peace.
