Emma Klauser, wife of the late Rudolph Klauser, passed away on September 5th in Jacksonville, Fl. Emma was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, and lived most of her life in Short Hills. Emma and Rudolph were married for fifty years and had three children who were raised in Millburn and Short Hills. Emma was an active member of the Saint Rose of Lima parish for many years. Two of Emma’s outside interests were classical music, especially the opera, and bridge. In the forties and fifties she was active with the Griffith Music Foundation in Newark, and she organized the Millburn Township schools’ Saturday bus trips to the Mosque Theater for the symphony concerts presented by the Foundation. Early in the sixties, Emma entered the real estate business, when she worked at Sargent Dumper Realtors, and later as a realtor herself for Allsopp Realtors, and then with Burgdorf Realtors. Emma joined her daughter in Jacksonville, Florida in 1995, where she resided at Deerwood Place Assisted Living Facility until her death Tuesday September 5. Emma leaves to mourn her passing her three children; Carol-Ann Black, Jacksonville, FL; Ellen-Jane Pairo (William) Wheaton, MD; Eugene Klauser (Eileen) Califon, NJ; ten grand children and eleven great grandchildren, a cousin Doris Ronceray, Basking Ridge, NJ; and her dear friends Alberta Schaefer of Springfield, NJ, and Mildred Wittel of Princeton, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave, Short Hills, on Sat, Sept 9th at 10:00 AM. Interment St. Rose Of Lima Cemetery, Short Hills. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
