Obituary of Margaret A. Dougherty
DOUGHERTY Margaret A. Peggy Dougherty Welcome Wagon hostess, Mrs. Margaret A. Peggy Dougherty, of Maplewood, formerly of Irvington, died on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, in Meadowlands Hospital, Secaucus. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Good Shepherd Parish, Nesbitt Terrace, Irvington, on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. Interment is in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Born in Newark, Mrs. Dougherty lived in Irvington before moving to Maplewood 43 years ago. She was a hostess for the Welcome Wagon of Maplewood/South Orange from 1975 to 1993 when she retired. Mrs. Dougherty was a past member of the Rosary Society of Our Lady of Sorrows Church and the New Jersey chapter of the Hummel Club. She also belonged to the Maplewood Seniors No. 2, the Citizens Budget Advisory Committee of Maplewood and the Paper Mill Guild, and was a past vice president of the Maplewood Service League. Mrs. Dougherty was a member of the Good Shepherd Parish in Irvington. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene V. Dougherty, the devoted mother of Eileen and her husband, Brian Kelly, loving grandmother of Kevin, Megan, Andrew and Colleen Kelly, and dear sister of John C. and Richard A. Holmes.
