Obituary of Thomas V. Tornillo Sr.

TORNILLO Thomas V. Tornillo Sr. Gaffer and WWII veteran, of Chatham, 88 Thomas V. Tornillo Sr., 88, of Chatham died on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at the Glenside Nursing Home in New Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held at the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. only. He was a gaffer with the I.A.T.S.E. Local 21 in Millburn for many years before retiring. Mr. Tornillo served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was the beloved husband of Elvira Calandra Tornillo; devoted father of James V., Joseph T. and Thomas V. Tornillo Jr.; dear brother of Pasquale Tornillo, Michael Tornillo and Margaret Cerza; loving grandfather of Ashley Testa, Mara Copeland, Robert and Ryan Tornillo, and greatgrandfather of Angelina Testa, Emma and Jack Copeland.
