PETERS’ BAKERY FOUNDER Passes at 92 Edwin Peters, born December 23, 1913 in Balterswil, Switzerland, died at the home of his daughter Trudi in Annandale, NJ on December 14, 2006. Edwin, the youngest of 6 children, came to America in 1925 where he lived on a farm in Huffs Church, Pennsylvania until 1936. He married Marie Brandt in 1939 and together they opened Peters’ Bakery in 1941. Maplewood Village was their home for 65 years. He is survived by Marie, his wife of 67 years, his son, Edwin Jr. and his wife Judy of Austin, TX, his daughter, Trudi of Annandale, N.J., his son, Walter (Sam) of Lebanon, PA, 6 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and 11 great grandchildren. Edwin will be remembered for fabulous baked goods, his wisdom, his humor, his love of Atlantic City and card playing, his simple lifestyle and his phenomenal memory. A heartfelt, special thanks to the doctors and nurses for their ongoing care, the Fresenius Dialysis Centers of Irvington and Flemington, Hunterdon Hospice, the caring staff of Beth Israel Hospital in Newark and the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, and our supportive family and friends. Visiting hours along with a time of sharing Edwin’s life will be held on Sunday, December 17 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Milburn Avenue, Maplewood, NJ 07040 (973) 762-2200.
