Lawrence E. Nolan, 82, of Brick, formerly of Union, died on Sunday, July 8, 2007, in the Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Theresas Church, 541 Washington Ave., Kenilworth, on Thursday, July 12, at 10 a.m. Interment is at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Born in Newark, Mr. Nolan lived in Newark and in Union for 20 years before moving to Brick one year ago. He was a police officer and detective for the Newark Police Department from 1960 to 1986 when he retired. Mr. Nolan was a member of the VFW Post, Newark, and the FOP of Newark. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 as a sergeant during World War II.
He was the beloved husband of the late Doris C. Dunn Nolan; devoted father of Bridget E. Nolan, Michael L. Nolan and his wife, Leslie, and Kathleen M. Donnelly and her husband, Tim; loving grandfather of Jennifer Nolan, Rebecca Nolan, Matthew and Megan Donnelly; dear brother of the late Philip Nolan, Mary Nolan, Margaret Sonnabend and Helen Cosman.
