Gerald P. Lonero Sr., 75, of South Orange passed away on Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at home, with his family by his side. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, on Friday, Sept. 21, at 11:15 a.m. Interment is private. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Born in Newark, Mr. Lonero was a South Orange resident for 62 years. He was the principal owner of Columbia Leather and Coating Corporation in Kenilworth from 1954 to 2007. He was also the owner of Vinylide Corporation, VCF/Wallcovering, Kenilworth, from 1954 to 2007. A Navy veteran, Mr. Lonero served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.
He was the beloved husband for 53 years to Mary Ann Ebler Lonero; loving father of Karen Catinella, Gerald P. Lonero Jr. and his wife, Lisa, Maria Lonero-Grainger and her husband, Martin, and Nicholas D. Lonero and his wife, Carrie; devoted grandfather of Anthony and Krista Catinella, Alexis Grainger and James Morra; dear brother of Louise Moscatelli, Samuel Lonero and Jayne Kelly.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1905 would be appreciated.
