Obituary of Stuckey Potts, Jr.

Stuckey Potts Jr., 81, of West Orange died on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, in the St. Cloud Nursing Home, West Orange. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be private. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Mr. Potts lived in Irvington before moving to West Orange two years ago. He served in the Army during World War II and was a steel worker for 56 years with American Abrasive Steel in Livingston before retiring. He was the beloved husband of the late Christine E. Troutman Potts; devoted father of Lamont Sr., Steven, Kevin and Evelin Potts and Bernadette Lumley; dear brother of Hazel Davis, Shirley, Audrey, Nathaniel, Willa Mae Potts Robinson and Rev. Donald G. Potts; loving grandfather of Keir Bristol, LaMont Potts Jr., and is also survived by one greatgrandson, Sincere LaMont Potts. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, 767 Northfield Ave., West Orange, N.J. 07052 would be appreciated.
