August DeRosa, 86, of Randolph, formerly of Maplewood, died on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, in Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clares Hospital, Dover. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Josephs Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood, on Friday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. Entombment is at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. For more information or to send condolences, visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com. Born in Jersey City, Mr. DeRosa lived in Maplewood for 60 years, moving to Randolph 15 months ago. He worked in telephone wire repair for Western Electric Telephone, Kearny, from 1946 until retiring in 1980. An Army Air Corps staff sergeant in World War II, he served from 1942 to 1945. Mr. DeRosa was a past president of AARP in Maplewood, a lifetime member of the South Orange Elks, and a member of the Western Electric Pioneers. He was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie Wright DeRosa; devoted father of Dawn Fuchs and her husband, Richard, and Michael DeRosa and his wife, Donna; loving grandfather of Sean Tracy, Rich Fuchs, Michael, Anthony and Shannon DeRosa, and dear brother of Florence Amato. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1905 or Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, 4949 Olgetown Stanton Road, Suite 107, Newark, Del. 19713 would be appreciated.
