Marie Speciale Steeb, 67, of Carolina Shores, N.C., formerly of Maplewood, died on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, in the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, S.C. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 9:30 a.m. Interment is in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. For more information or to send condolences, please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com. Born in Newark, Mrs. Steeb lived in Maplewood before moving to Carolina Shores, N.C., 10 years ago. She received her B.S. degree in physical education in 1962 from the Panzer School of Physical Education at Montclair State College. She was a pre-school teacher at Summit Child Care in Summit for many years, retiring in 1995. She was also a pre-school teacher at South Mountain Y.M.C.A., Maplewood, and was a former physical education teacher at Union High School. Mrs. Steeb was a former longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, South Orange. She was the beloved wife of Paul W. Steeb; devoted mother of Jennifer Steeb and Joanne Kolb and her husband, Todd; loving grandmother of Evan and Leanna Kolb. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association, 1 Union St., Suite 301, Robbinsville, N.J. 08691 would be appreciated.
