Obituary of John Goepfert

John Goepfert, 64, of Orange died on Monday, March 17, 2008, in Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Saturday, March 22, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Teresas Cemetery, Summit. Born in New York, N.Y., Mr. Goepfert lived in Orange for many years. Self-employed, he was the manager of Southern Cross, a popular New Jersey band in the 1970s and 1980s before retiring. Mr. Goepfert was a 1967 graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a bachelors degree in liberal arts. He was the son of the late John and Miriam Goepfert; brother of Paul L. Goepfert and longtime friend of Paul Ribardo.
