Obituary of John L. Darcy

John L. Darcy, “Jack”, 83, of Maplewood, N.J., passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect Street, South Orange, N.J. 07079, on Saturday, June 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. A gathering will immediately follow at the Darcy home from 12:30-5:00 p.m. All are welcome. A man of deep faith, John was born in Burlington, VT, and was raised in Boston. He lived in Maplewood since 1980. John received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Community Organization from Boston College, and received a 2nd Master’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Public Health. After a career in Social Work, John worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Mountainside. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Wilma, “Billie”, his children David, Susan, Steven and Lisa Seikai Darcy, along with eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
