Hello,
I'm very sorry to hear of Mike's passing.
I went to Sacred Heart and Seton Hall with Mike. I grew up on 18th Ave. in Vailsburg as well. John was a year behind me in school. I remember them both very well. John hung with Chris Kemph, who lived across the street from me. It doesn't matter where you live now, you never forget your Vailsburg buddies.
Mike worked in the same firehouse as my dad Bill. My dad was in Truck 5. He always liked Mike. They worked together until my dad retired.
Again, my heartfelt condolences. Mike and John were good guys.

I had the pleasure to live above the whole Mc Carthy clan when they lived in So.Orange on Vally road. Mike is one of the best men a guy could have as a friend. I will always remember our late night games of risk, our trips to the jersey shore, fiahing with mike and the Quigleys and just hanging at the apartment.
My condolances go out to the entire family... He will ve surley missed and the world will be a bit sadder with his passing.

I just heard about Mike and am so sorry for your loss. Had I found out a couple hours earlier, I would have made it up there. Mike was very special to my father, a true friend. Eric and I both have very fond memories of Mike. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Love and sympathy,
Robyn

My sincerest condolences to Mrs. McCarthy, Brian and Noreen. I was trying to look up old friends from the "burg" about a week ago. My hope was to find Mike, Bart, and some of the old gang from Brookdale. It was at that point that I learned of Mike's passing. We had so much fun hanging out in the old days- trips to Belmar, going to the Abbey on monday's when Buster tended bar, and eventually, growing up.Mike took on responsibility much earlier than the rest of us. We all marveled at his drive and ambition in owning his own house and becoming a proud father by the age of 25! Most of us were still living at home at that point. However,I know and will always cherish the fact that Mike never forgot how to have a good time, and most importantly, never forgot a friend in need. "Mike, this Bud's for you!" God Bless the McCarthys- you are in my prayers.
