EACH TIME I CLOSE MY EYES & MY MIND DRIFTS BACK TO 25TH OCT WHEN I LAST SPOKE TO U & 2ND NOV AT 9.15PM, IT'S REALLY HARD TO BELIEVE U ARE NO MORE & GONE FOREVER. MY DEAREST AUNTY SHADE U MEANT SO MUCH TO ME, THANKS FOR BEING THERE WITH YOUR LOVE CONCERN & SUPPORT ALWAYS. U STOOD BY ME DURING MY TRYING PERIODS; U STOOD IN THE GAP FOR MY LATE MUM YOUR BELOVED SISTER. WITH TEARS ROLLING DOWN MY CHEEKS AS I WRITE & BLEED FROM WITHIN THAT I COULD NOT VISIT NEITHER TILL U PASSED ON NOR BE BY YOUR DYING BED. THOUGH I KEPT PRAYING FOR A MIRACLE THAT COULD RESTORE YOUR LIFE AS U GRADUALLY SLIPPED BY TO THE GREAT BEYOND. U WERE A STRONG WOMAN, A FIGHTER, A STRUGGLER BUT THIS FIGHT WAS JUST TOO MUCH FOR U. U DID NOT LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO ENJOY THE FRUITS OF YOUR HARD EARNED LABOUR. AS SAID "IGI TI O BA DA NI KO KII NPE NI NU IGBO" SLEEP ON BELOVED AT THE BOSOOM OF THE LORD WHERE THERE IS NO PAIN, NO CRIES, NO SORROW. WE ALL LOVED U BUT GOD LOVES U THE BEST. ADIEU! ADIEU!! Her chair lies empty, the lights are dimmed, No longer shall we hear her rich laughter, her eloquence nor her polished voice, though her chair lies empty, our memory of her poise and warmth will forever lighten our grief.
Aunty go on in to the light and let the warm embrace of God forever keep you.
We will all miss her terribly.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Dearest Grand Aunt, we were too young to remember what you looked like or represent as your last visit home was during Grandma's 60th Birthday party some 9years ago when you were still bubbling with life.
We are sure you dear son has so much in common with you or takes after you as the stories of you that we hear from our mum shows that you were very generous, hardworking, friendly and loving.
When you get to the great beyond please tell our Grandma that we all miss her as we shall also miss you too.
Rest in Peace Dear Grandaunt

I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY OF JANET ADELIYI. I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT SHE WAS A VERY STRONG WOMAN AND BATTLED WITH HER DISEASE FOR A LONG TIME, I TRUELY ADMIRE HER STRENGTH. EVEN THOUGH WE ARE SAD TO SEE HER GO SHE IS IN A PLACE OF PEACE. I REMEMBER WHEN SHE USED TO COME IN TO WORK(AND I WOULD BE WORING LATE) SHE WOULD ALWAYS SAY WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING HERE?? I WOULD REPLY CATCHING UP ON WORK SHE WOULD ALWAYS TELL ME, (LIFE IS TOO SHORT GO HOME, ENJOY YOUR NEW BABY, AND FAMILY. THAT IS SOMETHING THAT I WILL DEFINITLY CARRY WITH ME! I SAY THIS TO SAY BECAUSE FOR A LONG TIME I DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS PERSONALLY GOING ON IN JANET'S LIFE BUT ONCE SHE SHARED THAT WITH ME. I ALWAYS LISTENED TO EVERYTHING SHE SAID. I WISH THE ADELIYI FAMILY NOTHING BUT PEACE. AT THIS TIME IT IS HARD BUT THE PAIN SHALL PASS.

i have always called her "Aunty Shade" as far back as 1966, so you will understand why she's been part of me for almost 43yr now.She was first to take me to the swimming pool @ koko dome in Ibadan, first to invite me to visit America.I will always remember d roll you played d night my dad arrived back in ibadan from Kano when my dad was ill. A strong African woman by all definition. Even when She knew death was near she showed more strenght than anyone i have ever known. She gave all she had to everyone most especially her family. Aunty Shade say me well to your sister and brother. We will all miss you. Sleep well as you rest in the Lord. Amen

I speak for us all when i say it was with deepest sadness to have heard about the loss of our aunty& sister at a time when the lord had also called upon her beloved brother. We celebrate her life with this tribute and recognise her place in the history of our families tree.i also personally believe that she has gone to a better place where theres no suffering/pain but peace, tranquility and serenity till eternity. May the Lord almighty rest her soul in perfect peace for he is the maker of heaven and earth. Hence as he preserved her in life so he shall do and rest her soul in perfect peace in heaven. IJN, amen.
