Felix A. "Phil" Cardone of Lakewood died on Tuesday, Feb 9th at Ocean Medical Center . Born in Millburn, he lived in Springfield before moving to Lakewood 25 years ago. Mr. Cardone was a Manager at the Magic Cottage Toy Store in Millburn in 1940's-1950's. He then worked as a manager at E.J. Korvette's Dept Store in Watchung. Mr. Cardone served in the US Army during World War II in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre and was awarded two bronze stars and a Purple Heart in 1943. He was very active in the community at the Original Leisure Village and treasured time with family and friends. Phil was the beloved husband of the late of Veronica Reilly Cardone. Devoted father of Richard Cardone and his wife Jacqueline, Donald Cardone, Barbara Cauterucci and her husband Frank, Patricia Fine and her husband Jeffrey and the loving grandfather of Patrick Cardone and his wife Debbie, Kimberly Smith and her husband John, Scott Cardone and his wife Elizabeth, Christopher Cardone, Shaun Fine, Casie Starr and her husband Rob, Stephanie Fine, Erica Cauterucci and Christina Cauterucci, and the great grandfather of Nicole and Alexys Cardone and Reilly Smith. Phil was the loving companion of Michele DeBow and dear Uncle of Joseph Saleski. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church , 50 Short Hills Ave , Short Hills on Mon, Feb 15th at 10:00 AM. Interment St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Sunday, 1:00 – 5:00 PM.
