Corcoran --- On Monday, May 24, 2010 John T. (Sean) Corcoran, 81, of Kenilworth, died at his home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange on Fri, May 28th at 9:30 AM.Interment Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, E. Hanover. Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home 153 south Orange Ave, South Orange on Thursday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM. For more information or to send condolences please visit prestonfuneralhome.net. Born in County Roscommon, Ireland, Sean lived in Newark for over 50 years, spent four years in Spring Lake, and for the past ten years lived in Kenilworth. Sean worked many jobs prior to becoming owner of Corcoran Tavern in Newark and retired from Seton Hall University after 22 years of service in 1996. He was the founder of The Sean Corcoran Association. He also held membership in Local 68 Operating Engineers, John F. Cryan Association, Giblin Assocation, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Sean was the beloved husband of the late Joan Corcoran, devoted father to Maura Lynch and Doreen Burkhardt, and her husband Jack, the loving grandfather to Michael and Meagan Lynch, the dear brother of Maura Walsh, Doreen Henry, Michael Corcoran and the late Martin and Cyril Corcoran. In ieu of flowers, donations to Trinitas Comprehensive Cancer Center, 451 William Street, Elizabeth, New Jersey 07207 would be appreciated.
